Nikola Jovanović – Johnny is a concert promoter from Niš and the president of Rock N’ Roller Promotion, with more than two decades of experience in the production and organization of concert events in Serbia, with a focus on rock and related genres.
Over his more than twenty-year career, he has organized a large number of concerts by prominent regional artists, including Hladno pivo, Vlatko Stefanovski, Rade Šerbedžija, Crvena jabuka, Yu Grupa, Goblini, Električni orgazam, Dr Nele Karajlić, Brkovi, Zoster, Rambo Amadeus, Bjesovi, Mile Kekin, Osvajači, Kultur Shock, KKN, Pero Defformero, Atheist Rap, Dža ili Bu, Kraljevski Apartman, and others. In addition to the domestic and regional scene, he has also produced shows by international artists such as Paul Di’Anno (ex Iron Maiden), Blaze Bayley (ex Iron Maiden), and Adam Bomb.
While most of his activity is based in Niš, he has also organized concerts in Belgrade, Novi Sad, Kragujevac, Subotica, Zaječar, Kruševac, Kraljevo, Užice, Čačak, Pirot, Paraćin, Vranje, and Leskovac.
In parallel with concert production, since 2002 he has been organizing transport for audiences from Niš to concerts by major international rock artists in the region.
He was the author and host of the show Hard & Heavy (2001–2009) on Niš-based television station Art, one of the rare specialized TV programs dedicated to rock music at the time, and the initiator of an underground fanzine of the same name.
He is the recipient of the Balkanrock award for contribution to the development of rock culture, and further expanded his production experience through his engagement at the Nišville Jazz Festival in 2018 as a stage manager.
He owns one of the largest collections of rock concert video recordings in Serbia, consisting of nearly 4,000 titles.
Through his long-standing work, he has collaborated with numerous promoters, agencies, and artists in the region, continuously contributing to the development of concert infrastructure and audiences in southern Serbia.
